For the past few years, I have slowly watched my hometown of San Diego become financially out of my grasp. The sunshine began to shine a little less bright, and the appeal of going to the beach has become no longer worth the high cost of living. As Erin and I continued to become stronger in our relationship and eventually married, we started to create big goals for our future. Buy a home, have some land, and create a garden where I can pull from for my photos. This and smaller goals like riding our bikes without multiple close calls from drivers paying attention to their phones versus the road. Many significant changes have happened in this city, which I know as a home, and it is now considered one of the country's most expensive cities.
I specifically remember seeing this post on Zillow for a burnt-down home on a tiny lot selling for $675k, cash only, and that was a big wake-up call that there was no hope for affording a space of our own anytime soon. Spending time with our friends only echoed our concerns, and the overall morale of the people I grew up with has been much more somber than ever.
Erin and I have massive dreams- together, individually, and for Wright Kitchen. Big dreams mean a big change sometimes. In our case, a very far move.
So, we are moving to..
